 On completion of the course:-

This 5 day course is intended for those who wish to join the industry as a trainee cable installer. The course will introduce candidates to the process of installing cable services such as broadband, telephone and digital TV services into residential properties. The course content includes: -

  • You will be placed with an industry labour supplier.
  • Begin assessment by Virgin Media to work as a technician on their cable network
  • Offered a self employed contract and begin your career as a cable installer.
  • Guaranteed first year revenues of at least £18,000 (conditions apply)
  • Provided with a vehicle, mobile phone & uniform at no cost to yourself.
  • Provided with all the tools you will need*
  • Enjoy a discount on cable services and other products.
  • Complete NRSWA unit 2 and certification.
  • Basic overview of a CATV HFC network
  • Difference between dB/dBmv and conversion
  • Attenuation (causes and affects)
  • Calculating power loses
  • Practical: Cable prep, fitting connections, cable running
  • Basic telephony principles
  • Practical use of test equipment

The course comes complete with an SCTE accredited module and certificate. On successful completion of the course the candidate will also receive membership to The Society for Broadband Professionals.

On completion successful candidates will be placed with a labour supplier and will be able to apply for training and assessment to work as a Virgin Media approved cable installer.

This course is available for £1250 on a pay as you earn opportunity.
(£150 deposit and 11 monthly payments of £100)
*First years guaranteed income based on successfully passing VM assessment and completing an average of 6 installs a day 5 days a week.
